Wall to wall beauty, comfort, and strength.

When you’re looking for the timeless beauty of hardwood floors, wood is hard to beat. Every board’s uncommon potential brings life to your home, whether you are installing wood floors in all of the rooms of your home or just a small section. Real wood floors add a whole other level of character to your home that you wont find with any other flooring option.

We supply our kiln-dried flooring in multiple different species, including yellow pine, poplar, ambrosia maple (wormy maple), black walnut, white oak, American hickory, and reclaimed barn wood flooring options for our customers. For details, pricing, and any other questions, give us a holler. Our team is always ready to help.

Hardwood Flooring Milling:

Our hardwood floors are milled with a tongue and groove joint. A tongue and groove joint is created by milling a protruding tongue on one edge of the board and a receiving groove on the opposite edge. These lock together on consecutive boards, creating a very tight, stable joint that can be milled with a wide array of patterns on the face to provide the perfect look for your project.

On the back of almost all of our flooring options there are ridges cut into the wood called kerfing. These ridges are created to help with expansion and contraction of the wood as humidity and temperature affects the wood.

You will often see what is called a micro bevel in the flooring. A micro bevel is a slight, hairline cut along the edge of a board. This bevel is cut into the wood because it helps to disguise unevenness in your floors. Unfortunately, it is impossible for your wood floors to be perfectly aligned so this bevel disguises some of these issues and makes your floor look much cleaner.

Hard wood flooring options:

Reclaimed Barn Wood Flooring

We sell our reclaimed barn wood flooring in mixed widths in random lengths at 3/4” thickness. Technically the grade for this option is just "reclaimed" since it comes from real KY barns, and it will have nail holes, missing knots, cracks, barky edges, and other board waste.

This is an excellent rustic option for your home if you love the old barn look. It currently starts at $7.50 per sq ft for mixed widths of what is typically 3", 4", and 5" but widths often depend on availability at the time of purchase.  We also currently offer a 2” and a 2.5” barn wood flooring option. This barnwood floors option has a micro bevel at the joint.

Barnwood is many people's first choice when choosing their floors because of its vintage look and rustic appeal. Barnwood is also way to recycle an old resource instead of just letting it be burned. Our customers love the rustic weathering, staining and natural weathering that come with the barn wood.

White Oak Flooring

We sell our white oak flooring in mixed widths and in random lengths at 3/4” thickness. It comes in select-character grade and starts at $4.75 per sq ft for mixed widths.

The character grade board waste margin is similar to #2 common, and will still include cracks, barky edges, and missing knots. It usually comes in mixed widths of 3", 5", and 7", but offering will depend on availability at the time of purchase. This option has a micro bevel at the joint.

People love white oak flooring for its hardy durability and readiness to take on stain. White oak is well known for being among some of the hardest woods used for flooring, making it the perfect option if you know your floors will be well used. This wood species is also a great option when you would like to stain your lumber due to its light color.

Ambrosia Maple Flooring

We sell our wormy maple flooring in mixed widths and in random lengths at 3/4” thickness. The Ambrosia maple comes in select character grade and starts at $3.50 per sq ft for mixed widths.

The select-character grade board waste margin will include cracks, barky edges, and occasional missing knots. It usually comes in mixed widths of 3", 5", and 7", but offering will depend on availability at the time of purchase. This option has a micro bevel at the joint.

Ambrosia maple is a beautiful hardwood that has a distinct wormy pattern in the wood. People love this look in the maple. A beetle called an Ambrosia beetle causes the wood to become streaky and to have a wormy look to the wood. This does not take away the strength of the wood in any way, but it does create an impressive and unique look to your floors.

Southern Yellow Pine Flooring

Southern yellow pine is available in 1x6 #3 common grade and starts at $1.70 per sq ft at 3/4” thickness.

This is technically still knotty pine lumber, but you will see less of the missing knots, cracks, and character than in our lower cabin grade pine. This option has a true square edge at the joint, where most of our other flooring options have a micro bevel.

Southern yellow pine is the hardest softwood species. This combined with its beautiful character make it a wonderful option for many people's homes. Not only is the wood durable, but it is very affordable and is readily available at a lot of lumber yards.

Hickory Flooring

We sell our hickory flooring in mixed widths and in random lengths at 3/4” thickness. This option comes in select-character grade and starts at $5.00 per sq ft for mixed widths. It usually comes in mixed widths of 3", 5", and 7", but offering will depend on availability at the time of purchase. This option has a micro bevel at the joint.

Hickory flooring is a very durable wood and it is full of character and charm. The durability of this wood paired with its more water resistant nature draw people into buying this wood for their home. The hickory flooring option requires less maintenance and is a perfect light colored flooring option.

Black Walnut Flooring

We sell our black walnut flooring in mixed widths and in random lengths at 3/4” thickness. It comes in the character grade and starts at $5.50 per sq ft for mixed widths.

The character grade tends to have a little more of the cracks, missing knots, barky edges, and other board waste than the select-character grade does. It usually comes in mixed widths of 3", 5", and 7", but offering will depend on availability at the time of purchase. This option has a micro bevel at the joint.

Our customers love the rich dark color of the black walnut flooring, as well as its strength and durability. This hardwood flooring option has been popular for many years all over the U.S.

Feel free to contact us for current pricing and custom milling options.

Poplar Flooring

Our poplar flooring widths depend on availability but are usually either 1x6 or 1x8. This comes in the same #2 common grade as our other poplar options, and starts at $2.25 per sq ft.

You will still see cracks and barky edges in the poplar, but there will be significantly fewer missing knots than some of our lower grades. This option has a true square edge at the joint, where most of our other flooring options have a micro bevel.

People love poplar flooring for its ease of installation and timeless character. This hardwood flooring option is just as easy to install as a pine option, but with added durability and strength.

NEED FLOORS WITH CHARACTER?

We would be happy to help answer your questions about real wood flooring. Tell us about your project or simply ask your questions. We would love to help you find the perfect character for your home! Send us a message below or call one of our lumber specialists for more information.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

The lengths in packs will vary, but the most important thing to consider is that we try to discourage customers from expecting they’ll always be able to use full length boards. When you account for cracks, missing knots, and other board waste, you should expect butt-joints. Simply put, this is part of using lower grades of lumber. If you look at most every picture of our customers’ homes, you will see those character-filled boards and maybe even some missing knots installed in their homes.

DISCOUNTS:

When buying large quantities of flooring lumber certain discounts apply. The only options to which these discounts do not apply are with the Southern Yellow Pine and the Poplar flooring options.
